12-29-09 Show me some Teeth!
Two character sketches, Dierdre and Neri.
As I promised, any sketch directly influenced by a song, gotta post it. And I'm happy to, this song is... addictive as hell, just like most of lady Gaga's stuff.

12-26-09 Tis the season to smack thy neighbor around
My neighbors have been fantastic, actually. But Geeez! JEEEZ. They tell us 2 inches of snow? There's gotta be a foot out there! 2 inches my duff! Also, my car *not pictured* looks like a big mound of snow, you can't see the edges of it. Gonna be fun going to work. :D
Christmas was stressful; fights on one side, ambiguous hatred from the other. My real christmas comes when I get to start spending my glorious giftcards. Sketch of the day was done a few days ago, next picture I plan on doing.

Shhh, it's still 12-19-09 somewhere
Some character designs i'm still working with for Caelum Sky. We've got Colus up front, Cempe on the left-hand side, and Falx in the back there. Ahahah, that means NOTHING TO YOU AND MEANS LOTS TO ME.
*secret secret secret* It'll mean something to you in about... 30 + chapters or so. But yeah, designing this bunch is a hell of a lot of fun. :D
Check out chapter 1 here:
Also, I got my Dreamcatcher form Taesospiritdragon on DA, check it out!
Ahhh, how cool is that?! It's made with some of the feathers from my parakeet, Arial, who died a month or so back. It's really really lovely.

Men folk! Not horribly aged men folk! Found out that i've got a hell of a weak spot, and that's men aged 19-50 Either I make them VERY old, or very young. This gent sits at around 25 years old; Commission for a person on Deviantart, still needs a bit more wokr, but i'm happy with it.
Also found out that I draw people's faces horribly slanted. I should do many more portraits like this.

Anyone else seeing a theme here? Lol. This is an old character of mine from way the hell back when I used to write round-robin fiction with friends, our second adventure called Lethal Divinity- it had to do with fantasy critters battling more advanced people from the 1300's. Wacky. They had trains and guns and all sorts of out-of-time period shit.
Note to self, no more generic poses standing in a sort of half-vies background. Though I did intend to make the pose like yesterday's except more loose, a tad more figurative.

Gotta stop drawing people with animal familiars behind them. This sketch is an upcoming character in Caelum Sky, just trying to pin down design (though i just ended up drawing her naked. Some design, eh?) My sketches also suffer from being pretty static, when using a reference like I did for her body. Ah well, always tomarrow.
Job journal: Updated my galleries on CGsociety, Amateur Illustrator.com, and added some work to my sketchblog on CA, along with registering my resume with Wizards of the Coast. I want to start doing some bookcovers, and I have a list of people who hire my sort of work, so it's all about putting the two together, now.
Also missed signing up for Acen. Missed it by a matter of hours. Gah. I'm on a waiting list now, hopefully i'm not too far from getting in.
My design for this weeks COW- Annialators from Nessus, the 9th layer of hell.

12-12-09 Startup
Hey hey! Introducing my snazzy new sketch-a-day blog. I've been working my ass off to improve on drawing figures and people for about a year now, and hopefully it shows from something done this time last year-
aaaaah, it burns!
So here are my sketch-a-day rules:
- Has to have a person in it
- It has to be a somewhat finished or inking-worthy study.
- No exceptions.
- No slacking off. (unless i'm out of town, unable to get to a computer, ect)
- Should use some sort of reference. No more drawing out of my ass like i've been doing.
Other then that, this blog'll also serve as my employment log. From now until I get a job, i'll be searching for industry jobs (Conceptual artist, book covers, children's book illustrations and various side-jobs) , and come September, my big-stupid-super-move blog, of my probably stupid move out to california from chicago. So stay tuned, folks, it's gonna be fun. :D
